New USB and Thunderbolt accessories require approval

ErikMelton merged acrogenesis's device-authorization proposal into quattro on October 9. The merge records approval by default for new USB and Thunderbolt devices. This is a development-branch merge, with no stable-release event established here. omacom/omarchy#11874

In September 24 background discussion, acrogenesis asked whether blocking should apply while unlocked or only while locked. The current proposal description, edited after coverage, describes default enforcement through USBGuard and Bolt, with choices to allow once, trust permanently or keep blocked. It also documents optional boot protection and warns that USB input can remain unavailable at an encrypted-disk prompt. These details are current context rather than a reconstruction of the October 9 wording. omacom/omarchy#11874:issuecomment-5818637671

Gliff becomes a default package with a remote-session indicator

dhh proposed and merged Gliff integration into quattro on October 9. The committed change adds the SSH-based Hyprland remote desktop package to new installations and supplies a migration for existing ones. A bar indicator highlights an active Gliff server and exposes the SSH peer address, making remote control visible on the controlled machine. omacom/omarchy#14712

greptile-apps[bot] found that cloned indicator widgets could not refresh through their service proxy; dhh replied with a fix. The final commit also restricts detection to the current user's servers and polls while active because capture-stop events do not reliably identify session termination. Connection notifications were removed, leaving the bar indicator as the signal. omacom/omarchy#14712:discussion_r4229484204

Snapdragon X and Yoga Slim 7x setup reaches n1x

ryanrhughes merged birkskyum's Snapdragon support into the n1x development branch. It adds Qualcomm detection, device trees and firmware setup, Adreno Vulkan support and Yoga Slim 7x configuration. This merge targets n1x rather than quattro or a stable release. omacom/omarchy#14759

Review by greptile-apps[bot] identified packages missing from the offline mirror list. birkskyum added the required entries and tests, and the reviewer confirmed that the gap was resolved. This matters for installations that must complete hardware setup without downloading missing dependencies. omacom/omarchy#14759:discussion_r4233504527

Related commits on the package repository's master branch add Windows firmware extraction and a compatibility shim for Arch Linux ARM kernels that lack the metadata used by mkinitcpio and Limine. The extractor includes handling for partial firmware staging and Windows-specific DSP filenames. omacom/omarchy-pkgs@9ea749835fc0 omacom/omarchy-pkgs@bf0af463eff4

ARM power-profile package lands while default integration stays open

dhh's CPPC-capable power-profiles-daemon package was committed to the package repository's master branch. It supplies working profile controls for supported ARM policies where the stock daemon offers placeholders. The commit reports N1X Chromium latency improvements from about 130 milliseconds to 56 milliseconds in balanced mode and 32 milliseconds in performance mode; those are author-reported measurements. omacom/omarchy-pkgs@cbded9750315

The companion proposal to make this daemon the Omarchy default opened on October 9 and remained open at the October 19 check. Its current description, edited after coverage, says the package must reach the target channel first. During October 9 review, greptile-apps[bot] flagged a retry path that could skip restarting the daemon or applying a profile after a partially successful migration. That is an evidenced review concern, rather than proof of an unresolved defect in the current revision. omacom/omarchy#14737:discussion_r4231303802

Users reproduce lock failures after the first unlock

An issue opened by jfdnet on October 8 remained open at the current check. October 9 reports made the impact concrete: shawnyeager described manual and idle locking returning success without securing the screen after one unlock, while the screensaver also stayed suppressed. omacom/omarchy#14588:issuecomment-6083104980

justcarlson traced the stale state to Quickshell 0.3.2 unlock signaling and supplied a patch that explicitly refreshes the mirrored lock state. They reported successful repeated locking and four suspend tests with the patch. Lifferado independently reported that locally applying the Service.qml change restored subsequent locks and idle locking on a ThinkPad. These are contributor test reports; the selected records do not establish a merged fix. omacom/omarchy#14588:issuecomment-6072731453 omacom/omarchy#14588:issuecomment-6087447652

Input switching adopts Super+I across layouts and input methods

On October 9, dhh reported changing input switching to Super+I, with a compositor binding independent of preserved custom Fcitx shortcuts. Tooltip and keybindings-menu changes were intended to give users one working desktop shortcut. dhh reported a Japanese-selected ISO installation and real keypress tests, while explicitly saying graphical composition validation was still incomplete at that point. omacom/omarchy#14433:issuecomment-6080557737

The proposal subsequently merged into quattro on October 10, outside coverage. Its current description, edited later, connects installer choices to Japanese, Korean and Chinese input engines, offline setup, shared selectors and cycling through mixed keyboard layouts and input methods. This describes the current merged scope, rather than the exact October 9 revision. omacom/omarchy#14433

Upgrade testing catches wallpaper loss and boot stalls

emirb introduced and merged an upgrade-and-reboot test into the ISO repository's quattro branch. It starts from a signed release ISO and checks the experience of an existing installation moving to edge or rc, including migrations, reboot recovery, desktop startup and wallpaper preservation. github-actions[bot] reported an initial 4.0.4-to-edge run with 10 of 11 checks passing and the wallpaper check failing. omacom/omarchy-iso#248:issuecomment-6089979558

A subsequent committed change requires the Omarchy package version to change, preventing a successful reboot with no upgrade from passing as an upgrade test. It also retries competing screenshot-branch pushes. Separately, quattro received the wallpaper-link repair and emirb's boot fix, which prevents systemd from waiting for a console-size response while Plymouth holds the terminal. The reported boot-frequency measurements belong to the commit author. omacom/omarchy-iso@d6a32f0dcf39 omacom/omarchy@187a145ad555 omacom/omarchy@f03bf06742a2

Nightly workflow builds tested VM images from edge and stable

emirb committed a nightly workflow on quattro that builds edge, tests installation, seals the resulting disk into a VM image and verifies it before publication. A companion change adds VM images made from the latest signed stable-release ISO. This is tooling for existing release and development channels, not evidence of a new stable Omarchy release. omacom/omarchy-iso@d90119f5d8f0 omacom/omarchy-iso@98b20a682954

The final image layout uses a standalone qcow2 file with its own checksum. Another change removes the nightly package cache so missing mirror packages cannot be concealed by leftovers on a runner. ISO builds also now require signatures on Omarchy's own packages instead of accepting unsigned ones. omacom/omarchy-iso@f9d184f2bcc6 omacom/omarchy-iso@f99443dc4c1b omacom/omarchy-iso@f6377d2f872d

Package updates stop waiting behind unrelated failures

dhh proposed and merged unattended updates for 46 selected packages on master, allowing their update PRs to merge after successful build checks. Later October 9 commits by ryanrhughes split upstream synchronization, rebuilds and branch tracking into package-specific PRs, while keeping packages from the same upstream branch together. This lets successful updates proceed when another package fails. omacom/omarchy-pkgs#892 omacom/omarchy-pkgs@ba7561a34c10

ryanrhughes also changed branch tracking to choose an older eligible commit when a fresh tip has not cleared its minimum age, and scheduled tracking hourly. emirb addressed a separate delivery gap by queuing waiting publication jobs instead of allowing newer arrivals to replace them. These changes were committed to master; they do not by themselves prove every affected package reached a user channel. omacom/omarchy-pkgs@a7f730d1e6af omacom/omarchy-pkgs@086d1e133693

Menu Omni publishes privacy and response-rendering fixes

HANCORE-linux's review found AI questions exposed in command-line arguments and provider responses able to trigger image requests without a click. filip-spaldon moved questions to standard input and revised response sanitization. Further review identified repeated image-marker bypasses and expensive rescanning that could monopolize the shell's UI thread. omacom/omarchy-plugin-marketplace#10565:issuecomment-6074146042 omacom/omarchy-plugin-marketplace#10565:issuecomment-6084939752

filip-spaldon replaced the sanitizer with a single linear scan and reported regression tests for large inputs and automatic image loading. A separate quattro commit fixes push-to-talk recordings continuing after the hold key is released when users have typed, clicked or changed modifiers during recording.
