Display controls follow physical monitors across ports
dhh proposed and merged omacom/omarchy#17159 into the quattro development branch. The display panel now selects one monitor at a time for brightness, scale and resolution, with a draggable layout map. Saved choices identify monitors by make, model and serial, so a dock changing connector names does not assign settings to the wrong screen.
greptile-apps[bot] reviewed layout and migration problems; its final summary reported the scaling-history finding fixed. Further quattro commits apply resizing and neighbour movement together, add rotation from the map's context menu and offer refresh rates. The proposal documents remaining limits, including abrupt shell-window reopening during layout moves and shared picker icons for identical monitors.
Hex joins dictation with shared keyboard controls
dhh proposed and merged Hex support into quattro through omacom/omarchy#17186, adding a third backend beside Superwhisper and Voxtype. Setup downloads its speech model and selects it; removal retains settings, history and models. The adapter retrieves transcripts and inserts them through Omarchy because Hex's own Ctrl+V paste did not work in terminals during the reported live trial.
In review, greptile-apps[bot] requested setup and removal coverage, and
dhh reported adding checks for failed downloads, selection and removal.
dhh also merged omacom/omarchy#17188: Alt + Space toggles recording, while Right Alt records while held. Existing dictation users retain their previous shortcuts through migration. The shortcut proposal had not yet been tried on a live desktop, and the revised Hex insertion path had not been retested live.
Sudo authorization lasts ten minutes in the same terminal
dhh merged
omarchybot's omacom/omarchy#17000 into quattro, restoring ordinary sudo caching. One password now covers ten minutes in the same terminal, replacing command-level timestamp clearing that repeatedly prompted during snapshots and development linking. Updates retain their own initial authorization and keepalive.
The change also simplifies update, refresh and channel-switch scripts and lets hooks and mise inherit the caller's PATH. greptile-apps[bot] described the decision as explicitly accepting that user-run tools can reuse cached authorization. Checks protecting update cleanup and temporary passwordless grants from other accounts remain.
Apple Silicon gains shell setup and Wi-Fi recovery fixes
With dhh listed among their participants, quattro commits repair existing Apple Silicon accounts whose stock Bash configuration never loaded Omarchy's shell setup. omacom/omarchy@0b1056967b79 replaces affected configurations while preserving configurations that already load Omarchy or link into a dotfiles repository. A follow-up preserves earlier backups by choosing an unused backup name.
Package default-branch commits attributed to David Heinemeier Hansson also advance Apple hardware support. omacom/omarchy-pkgs@f3cc4014bac5 pins kernel fixes for MacBook Neo Wi-Fi on DFS channels, Broadcom country detection and J613 brightness. omacom/omarchy-pkgs@f9d0eda975f6 delegates MT7932 reconnection to NetworkManager rather than iwd. These records establish committed package changes, rather than a new stable Omarchy release.
Installer boot proposal cuts reads and keeps a logo visible
hegjon expanded the still-open omacom/omarchy-iso#355 with eleven further commits, reporting thirty in total. The proposal replaces Plymouth on the x86_64 live image with an early console logo, separates PXE boot files and removes unused packages and drivers. Its reported initramfs size falls from 92.6 MB to 42.6 MB.
In omacom/omarchy-iso#355:issuecomment-6541617098, hegjon reported a T490 reaching the greeter in 10.95 seconds against 17.9 seconds with the stock release-candidate ISO, plus a successful full install. These are the author's measurements; the current description notes that the stock run's USB stick was not recorded. The final ISO had not yet been run on the X200, and the PXE scenario was not tested for the image split.
First-boot setup shares the installer's traced-icon screen
dhh proposed and merged omacom/omarchy#17156 into quattro, replacing first-boot setup's older progress bar with the ISO's traced Omarchy icon. This particularly affects Apple Silicon installations, where first-boot provisioning is the only Linux-side install screen. Both callers now share the drawing implementation while retaining their own progress models.
greptile-apps[bot] found that shrinking and enlarging the console left tips permanently shortened.
dhh reported fixing the width handling and checking the resize sequence. The corresponding ISO integration was merged into quattro in omacom/omarchy-iso@449288be564c. The runtime proposal reports simulated-screen testing, but no real first-boot run.
Slack theme proposal switches to native preferences
acrogenesis's omacom/omarchy#17113 remains open. Its current approach applies Omarchy background, accent, green and red colors through Slack's native custom-theme preferences, preserving Slack's own surface styling. Existing installations would activate the integration through Slack setup and reopen the application once.
During October 31 review, acrogenesis reported fixing a startup race by connecting the file watcher before reading the theme.
greptile-apps[bot] then identified eight-digit custom colors causing updates to be rejected;
acrogenesis reported normalizing those colors to RGB and adding a regression test. The proposal notes that its internal Slack actions may require adapter changes when the client changes.
OpenPad review closes guest-access and hidden-notebook findings
0w3n-N's OpenPad submission, omacom/omarchy-plugin-marketplace#13364, remains open. The Inkcast successor combines iPad notes, PDF annotation and live guest sharing.
HANCORE-linux's review identified guest-triggered memory growth and cases where notebooks marked Hidden could still reach viewers.
0w3n-N reported bounded transfers, shared notebook encodings, guest drawing budgets and fixes preventing pending syncs from reopening a hidden notebook. In omacom/omarchy-plugin-marketplace#13364:issuecomment-6542677212,
HANCORE-linux confirmed all five earlier findings fixed and accepted the reviewed capabilities. Publication still depends on the separate decision about replacing the Inkcast listing.
EasyOpenVPN review finds profile freezing still leaves a root race
kanpianer's EasyOpenVPN submission, omacom/omarchy-plugin-marketplace#13434, remains open. The widget offers profile management, connection controls and an optional passwordless Polkit helper.
kanpianer reported adding immutable configuration snapshots after an earlier review found mutable profiles could introduce root-loaded plugins.
HANCORE-linux found the revised implementation still validated the writable profile before copying it, leaving the copied bytes unvalidated. omacom/omarchy-plugin-marketplace#13434:issuecomment-6537843460 therefore reports the privilege-escalation race remaining at the reviewed commit. A further review found server-controlled log markup could trigger network requests when displayed. The supplied record establishes these findings, without a later confirmed fix.
Kernel TCP use-after-free report closes after fixes are merged
emirb closed
ChrisDrit's omacom/omarchy-pkgs#1780 on October 31, citing two merged changes. The report concerned CVE-2026-98432, an IPv4 TCP use-after-free in the reported 7.2.8-based kernel builds, and requested a backport or newer kernel base.
As October 29 background, kwilczynski had said the fix would be included in a forthcoming 7.2.13 release.
emirb's closure confirms the cited fixes were merged; the supplied thread does not establish when a corrected package reached users.
