Hyprland skips realtime scheduling to avoid watchdog kills
emirb merged
shawnyeager's omacom/omarchy#17103 into the quattro development branch. It sets HYPRLAND_NO_RT=1 in session defaults to avoid compositor kills when a slow operation exceeds rtkit's realtime timeout. PipeWire retains realtime scheduling, and the setting takes effect at login.
shawnyeager reported successful wake, display hotplug and game-launch checks with the override. In omacom/omarchy#17103:issuecomment-6534404467,
emirb said the fix was intended for edge, rc3 and the final 4.5 release; that comment describes planned availability, not a completed stable release.
Hyprland 0.57 compatibility repairs cover Quake and screen sharing
dhh proposed and merged omacom/omarchy#17077 into quattro, replacing the deprecated on_created_empty workspace rule with a workspace.created handler. Empty Quake consoles still start their agent, while consoles created by moving an existing window remain unseeded.
The package repository also committed a screen-sharing picker update in omacom/omarchy-pkgs@7b8356517ba0, attributed to scottjones. Its description explains that Hyprland 0.57's JSON for empty special workspaces broke the older parser and left the Screen and Window tabs empty. The new version uses Wayland protocols and includes a shared-memory pool sizing fix.
Snapdragon X2 gains early drivers for installation and disk unlock
emirb approved and merged
jdvmi00's omacom/omarchy-iso#358 into quattro. It adds Glymur and USB drivers, thunderbolt support and console options needed to bring up the live installer on Snapdragon X2 laptops.
jdvmi00 reported that a Surface Laptop 8 reached the installer with the additions and stayed black without them; the tested image also included a hardware-ID file.
A related quattro commit, omacom/omarchy@ede3567fa81b, attributed to jdvmi00, loads Glymur pin control and interconnect drivers before disk unlock. These are development-branch changes.
Zenbook A16 support advances through firmware and kernel packaging
Package commits omacom/omarchy-pkgs@3659b4671149 and omacom/omarchy-pkgs@ee654b751d83, attributed to omarchybot, add Zenbook A16 kernel board support and board-specific DSP and Wi-Fi firmware. The firmware commit explains that these files are needed for battery reporting, sound and Wi-Fi.
omarchybot's open omacom/omarchy#17083 proposes model-specific setup and migration: install the firmware, use a text-console disk unlock prompt, load input and USB components early, and disable sleep modes that reset the SoC on this kernel.
greptile-apps[bot] flagged migration paths that could record completion after failed repairs, plus a sleep configuration filename that Omarchy would not recognize. These are review findings on the open setup proposal, separate from the committed package work.
Apple Neural Engine tools become independent of DKMS
maralcbr merged
joshuaswarren's omacom/omarchy-pkgs#1853 into master, introducing omarchy-ane for tools, firmware hooks and device-tree overlays without a kernel module. This lets systems whose image kernel already carries the driver obtain the tools without adding DKMS.
github-actions[bot] reported publication of version 0.5.6-1 to edge.
maralcbr's review required edge qualification before changing the release inventory, then approved the revised inventory with the new package marked unqualified. The companion modules-only DKMS change was committed as omacom/omarchy-pkgs@dc74c9da744d, attributed to
joshuaswarren. It depends on omarchy-ane and lifts the temporary upstream-sync hold after the split, avoiding overlapping file ownership.
Paddock reaches the marketplace after sandbox boundary repairs
harnessix-dev's Paddock submission, omacom/omarchy-plugin-marketplace#13218, reached publication and closed. Its widget provides sandbox status and approval cards for a separate native CLI that runs coding agents and desktop applications.
harnessix-dev reported fixes for HTTPS proxy credential transport, recovery destination handling and unapproved Flatpak access expansion in version 0.1.7.
HANCORE-linux confirmed those fixes and the prebuilt release's connection to the reviewed commit in omacom/omarchy-plugin-marketplace#13218:issuecomment-6514587067, then accepted the documented installation capabilities. Manual setup remains necessary because installing the plugin does not install the CLI.
github-actions[bot] subsequently reported publication through maintainer review in omacom/omarchy-plugin-marketplace#13218:issuecomment-6514834087. That verification applies to the exact marketplace snapshot and is not a security audit.
Native Notification Center proposal retains missed popups
mrduhlol opened omacom/omarchy#17068 to keep timed-out or manually shelved notifications in a bell-accessible panel. The open proposal supports restoring notifications, invoking their original actions and dismissing individual entries or clearing the center. Stored entries are session-only and capped at 100.
During review, mrduhlol reported fixes for bounded retention, selection that follows notification identity through new arrivals, and restored popup persistence across a shell restart.
greptile-apps[bot] subsequently reported that all four earlier findings were addressed, while noting that its review used source inspection without rerunning tests or visual checks. Multi-monitor behavior and prolonged memory use remain unverified in the author's stated scope.
Installer startup proposal reduces USB reads and boot waits
hegjon's open omacom/omarchy-iso#355 gained a reported seven-commit extension that groups boot files together in squashfs, stores already-compressed modules separately and removes unused services and systemd waits. Medium verification starts after the greeter appears, allowing the first installer screen to arrive sooner.
In omacom/omarchy-iso#355:issuecomment-6517097449, hegjon reported a ThinkPad X200 measurement of 14.1 seconds from kernel start to greeter, compared with 25.5 seconds for the 2026.10.26 ISO. Those are author measurements, with the BIOS menu countdown excluded.
greptile-apps[bot] also flagged a benchmark timeout path that could leave QEMU running; the proposal remains unmerged.
Still-to-video wallpaper transitions keep the desktop covered
Quattro commit omacom/omarchy@432ae6623e70, attributed to bjarneo, keeps the current still wallpaper visible until OWE has its first video frame. This addresses a transition that could briefly expose an old renderer frame or an empty background before fading into video.
The commit also lets an ongoing reveal between still images finish when a video is selected, keeping its images visible while the base image loads. The package repository separately committed OWE and owe-lockfeed version 0.2.13 in omacom/omarchy-pkgs@f4ef89777371, also attributed to bjarneo.
Sunshine edge packages enable CUDA builds on x86_64
ryanrhughes merged
jeremydixon22's omacom/omarchy-pkgs#228 into master. It enables CUDA and NVENC support in Sunshine's x86_64 build and adds the CUDA build dependency, while leaving aarch64 CUDA-free. The package revision increases to deliver the rebuilt package to existing users.
github-actions[bot] reported successful publication of Sunshine 2026.914.233613-2 to edge for both architectures in omacom/omarchy-pkgs#228:issuecomment-6523376751.
