Hyprland and titlebars move together to restore edge upgrades
ryanrhughes proposed and merged omacom/omarchy-pkgs#1821 into master, moving Hyprland to 0.57.0 and titlebars to 0.3.0 together for edge on both architectures. The older titlebars plugin could neither build against the new compositor nor permit its installation. An earlier protective commit, attributed to Emir Beganović and listing
emirb as a participant, held x86_64 on 0.56.2 to keep upgrades working: omacom/omarchy-pkgs@be6149775e8c.
github-actions[bot] reported the new compositor and titlebars packages live in both edge repositories in omacom/omarchy-pkgs#1821:issuecomment-6502344987, while noting that some planned slots had not run. A subsequent master commit records the titlebars dependency rebuild to 0.3.0-2. This is an edge package update; the proposal still identifies an incompatible Cua plugin and untested touchscreen dragging.
Apple Silicon gains an optional RC channel with package-set safeguards
maralcbr proposed omacom/omarchy#16986, which
emirb merged into the quattro development branch. It adds the Apple Silicon templates needed to select RC, while keeping edge as the default and stable unavailable. Package-repository master commits also add checks that refuse promotions of an unqualified Mac package set and check every planned slot before publishing: omacom/omarchy-pkgs@05422a2243fb and omacom/omarchy-pkgs@1359fc98322b.
After the merge, ryan-winkler requested a documented upgrade path, the first published build containing the templates, and separate migration guidance for users of the older Mac fork in omacom/omarchy#16986:issuecomment-6495243961. Their installed system still lacked the templates despite seeing RC packages, and they explicitly had not tested a live channel switch. The development merge therefore establishes channel support without establishing that every existing Mac installation can already reach it.
Zenbook A16 audio support combines board setup and speaker tuning
dhh proposed and merged omacom/omarchy#17039 into quattro, adding hardware detection, installation and migration support for the ASUS Zenbook A16's speakers and microphones. Its tuning separates woofers and tweeters, applies ASUS-derived voicing, and adds a protective high-pass filter and limiters.
Package master commits add the missing audio topology and profile setup, software volume control, and a kernel change intended to prevent half the speakers disappearing after resume: omacom/omarchy-pkgs@e87374ad3c9b and omacom/omarchy-pkgs@310647950fc2. The kernel commit reports 15 successful idle/play cycles against five previously; these are author-reported results. The development merge is not a stable release, and the proposal acknowledges that its sound still falls short of Windows.
Hidden bars stop intercepting fullscreen controls
dhh proposed and merged omacom/omarchy#16991 into quattro to stop an invisible bar from catching clicks along the top of fullscreen windows. The bar now removes its input region when its own screen's active workspace contains a real fullscreen window, preserving bar interaction for maximized windows.
In omacom/omarchy#16991:discussion_r4412518167, dhh reported adding tests for fullscreen, maximized and other-workspace cases, alongside a live pointer-input check. The change addresses a concrete usability failure in fullscreen applications such as a KVM web console; it has landed in development.
Pull requests gain tests inside a running Omarchy desktop
emirb proposed and merged omacom/omarchy#16835 into quattro. Every pull request and push to that branch gains a Tests check that boots a stable-release VM under KVM, copies in the checkout and runs the full suite inside its desktop session. The proposal reports skipped checks in seven files, compared with 64 in its container comparison.
The resulting commit, omacom/omarchy@e9474ecae652, also records a correction to the test verdict: completion and success now come from a separate exit-status file. Previously, a test printing a successful-looking status line could make a failed suite appear green. The workflow improves development feedback; the proposal leaves making it a required status check until its failure rate is known.
Plugin Guard reaches the marketplace after terminal-output fixes
github-actions[bot] confirmed Plugin Guard's publication with maintainer-reviewed verification in omacom/omarchy-plugin-marketplace#13216:issuecomment-6499213522.
mattwolfgang submitted the plugin to scan other plugins with static checks and an optional model review before installation or update. Its documented automatic sweep can disable installed plugins rated dangerous.
HANCORE-linux initially blocked publication after finding that repository-controlled report text could emit terminal controls and replace the clipboard. The reviewer subsequently confirmed the finding resolved at the reviewed commit and accepted the documented capabilities in omacom/omarchy-plugin-marketplace#13216:issuecomment-6497849270. Publication applies to the exact marketplace snapshot and is not a security certification.
Datebook adds CalDAV syncing and bounded network waits
github-actions[bot] confirmed an updated, automatically verified Datebook marketplace snapshot in omacom/omarchy-plugin-marketplace#13263:issuecomment-6507210706.
jonspinks described two-way support for Fastmail, iCloud and user-specified CalDAV servers, with app passwords stored in the keyring and conditional writes intended to avoid overwriting concurrent changes.
A later follow-up tightened deadlines for servers that slowly trickle responses. jonspinks reported whole-request limits and a 300-second per-account sync deadline, after which that account is marked offline while others continue: omacom/omarchy-plugin-marketplace#13263:issuecomment-6505549225. The reported tests cover slow headers, slow bodies and stalled accounts. Marketplace verification covers the published snapshot rather than constituting a security audit.
Installer boot proposal cuts work before the first screen
hegjon expanded the still-open omacom/omarchy-iso#355 with nine additional commits, described in omacom/omarchy-iso#355:issuecomment-6504343044. They defer medium hashing until the first installer screen, reduce startup reads, shorten the BIOS countdown and enable a splash on the firmware framebuffer.
hegjon reports the ISO and installer's USB 2.0 time falling from 11.0 to 7.9 seconds for this additional work.
These new changes had QEMU integration coverage but no real-stick test in the supplied update. As explicitly dated background, hegjon's October 28 test of the first three commits reported a ThinkPad X200 improving from 25.5 to 20.5 seconds from kernel start to greeter, followed by a successful installation. That result does not validate the nine newer commits, including removal of the USB device-settle delay.
Locked-device protection advances through service-boundary review
acrogenesis's open omacom/omarchy#14937 proposes blocking unfamiliar USB and Thunderbolt devices while locked, automatically admitting locked-time arrivals after unlock, and offering optional approval for new devices attached while unlocked. Product review remains required before merge; this is a proposed default rather than shipped behavior.
greptile-apps[bot] raised a concern that the Thunderbolt service sandbox would prevent authorization writes.
acrogenesis responded in omacom/omarchy#14937:discussion_r4416496723 that the write boundary had been made explicit and installed-service tests passed with real boltd and simulated hardware. The responder also said the original denial did not reproduce on that Lab/systemd version. Reported VM CI passed, but physical Thunderbolt, firmware and physical suspend behavior remain outside the stated verification.
Live launcher queries gain cancellation and calculator limits
avillagran continued the open omacom/omarchy#8537 proposal for calculator, web-search and configurable query results inside the launcher. The current design places calculator and keyword results above normal matches, with web search as a fallback.
In omacom/omarchy#8537:issuecomment-6504528259, avillagran reported review fixes for result selection, cancellation when the menu closes, five-second plugin timeouts and bounded calculator arithmetic. A subsequent update reported fixes for fallback placement, translations and literal dollar sequences, with passing menu, translation and CLI tests. These are reported improvements to an unmerged proposal.
Runtime translation proposal refines plugin and system catalogs
avillagran's open omacom/omarchy#10083 proposes translating shared UI components through installed system gettext catalogs, with plugin catalogs filling vocabulary gaps. Shared buttons and tooltips could translate without plugin source changes, while raw text bindings would still require explicit translation calls.
The supplied review follow-ups report fixes for plural catalogs, per-string locale fallback, startup-cache retirement and reading catalog output to completion. avillagran also added an opt-out for user text such as machine names and account email addresses, reporting passing focused tests in omacom/omarchy#10083:issuecomment-6508768366. The proposal remains unmerged, and the earlier follow-up distinguishes focused passes from remaining full-suite failures attributed to baseline or environment conditions.
