joetossell reported that restarting xdg-desktop-portal-hyprland reduced Hyprland's file descriptor count from 8,479 to 549 while keeping all 33 windows open. The measurement connected accumulated keymap descriptors with stuck portal connections and supplied a workaround for that session. Responding with source analysis, omarchybot argued that stale input-capture sessions and their EIS queues better explain the retained keymaps than ordinary Wayland connections. It described a multipart upstream fix, with the portal component still awaiting review at the time of the comment.
