ARM gains stable and rc channels with matching release safeguards
emirb merged omacom/omarchy#16065 into quattro, adding stable and rc package configurations for aarch64. Previously, even an rc ARM install would move to edge on its first update. Existing edge installations stay there until their owners choose another channel. Apple Silicon remains edge-only because its package sources support that channel alone. This is development-branch support, not evidence that Omarchy 4.5.0 stable has shipped.
ryanrhughes proposed and
emirb merged omacom/omarchy-iso#298, allowing ARM release images to publish beside x86_64 images without replacing their download filename. The committed ISO builder change omacom/omarchy-iso@c6de4cc756bb also selects the matching ARM mirror for stable, rc or edge.
Package tooling changes on master align ARM builds with those channel snapshots and block stable promotion until its ARM mirror matches rc. These commits are attributed to Emir Beganovic. Separate commits attributed to Ryan Hughes remove package channel restrictions that had excluded NVIDIA components from ARM rc promotion, and prevent publication from replacing a channel's packages with equal or older versions. The safeguards are recorded in omacom/omarchy-pkgs@82fb44ba2e38, omacom/omarchy-pkgs@61ff00812591 and omacom/omarchy-pkgs@48340e7e3f0b.

Snapdragon fixes target sleep drain, cameras, microphones and Wi-Fi
ryanrhughes merged
turbineBMW's Snapdragon X1 suspend work into the package repository's master branch in omacom/omarchy-pkgs#1315. It addresses power domains, PCIe ports, Bluetooth and an audio processor that prevented deeper sleep.
turbineBMW reported roughly 0.25 W during a short Surface Pro 11 suspend test, compared with 0.75 W before these components slept; those are contributor measurements, and the proposal says it was not boot-tested on other X1 laptops.
Package commits listing birkskyum as a participant, attributed to Birk Skyum, enable the Yoga Slim 7x webcam and then replace a restart-delay workaround with camera controller fixes. The later change reports successful rapid camera restarts in omacom/omarchy-pkgs@c9518288fabf. Another committed fix addresses Wi-Fi stalls after access-point channel or bandwidth changes, plus Iris video decoder memory and suspend problems, in omacom/omarchy-pkgs@9db7ac36d410.
The microphone correction also needed a packaging follow-up: the earlier patch had not increased the package release number, so publication built nothing. The commit attributed to Ryan Hughes raises that number to ship the fix in omacom/omarchy-pkgs@1f74195540e5. These are package repository changes, not a stable release announcement.

Appearance becomes a root menu as shortcuts separate apps from panels
dhh proposed and merged omacom/omarchy#15973 into quattro. Appearance becomes a top-level menu, absorbing Style and grouping window controls under Windows and screensaver and About entries under Branding. Toggle labels describe the action they perform. Users with menu extensions that reference the old IDs will need to update them, although summoning the old style menu keeps working through an alias.
Related quattro commits move Calculator to Super + Shift + Q and Activity to Super + Shift + T, reserving Super + Ctrl for panels and menus. Themes gain Super + Ctrl + T, backgrounds gain Super + Ctrl + W, and Network moves to Super + Ctrl + N; Nightlight remains available through the toggle menu without its former binding. The keyboard screenshot moves to Super + Ctrl + Alt + C, restoring Super + Shift + S to Google Maps. These commits carry attributed coauthor credit for David Heinemeier Hansson, including omacom/omarchy@5264cbbd1396.
Omapager becomes the shell's notification engine
ryanrhughes proposed and merged omacom/omarchy#15932 into quattro, folding Omapager into the shell and retiring it as a separate plugin. The replacement supports per-source stacks, snoozing, Do Not Disturb, held and recent notifications, history and notification actions. Cards follow the theme's corner treatment, and website icons are not fetched separately.
The engine stores its history and quiet state locally, with verification codes stored only in redacted form. Related quattro commits attributed to Ryan Hughes remove inline reply and the KDE Connect helper, and read the previous engine's Do Not Disturb setting until the new quiet state is saved. Those changes are recorded in omacom/omarchy@a10f7a10f7ba and omacom/omarchy@e3e08d305052; the merge does not establish stable-release availability.
Agent expansion tightens quota handling and installation requirements
The open proposal omacom/omarchy#14040 consolidates community agent collectors and launchers under a shared usage contract. Its current scope expands the panel from six collectors to 23, aiming to count tokens once under the provider that bills them and preserve the last good quota answer when a check fails. The proposal is posted by Claude on behalf of dhh and remains unmerged.
In October 20 responses posted through dhh's account, Claude reported fixes that keep incomplete Copilot transcript scans out of the cache and retain a stale allowance when GitHub returns an unreadable quota response. The same discussion holds back Goose, Mistral Vibe, Phantombot and ZeroClaw launchers until mise registers them, while retaining the Vibe usage collector. These responses are recorded in omacom/omarchy#14040:discussion_r4327649152, omacom/omarchy#14040:discussion_r4327648721 and omacom/omarchy#14040:discussion_r4326600517.
The proposal reports testing with offline fixtures and fake services, rather than real service credentials. It also says the panel and new menu entries were not checked in a running UI, so the reported test results do not establish live integration behavior.
Multi-user proposal separates shared disk access from administrator privileges
osbase77 opened omacom/omarchy#16100 to add administrator and limited accounts. The open proposal keeps the existing setup until a second account is added, then separates the shared disk password from the owner's login password, locks root and disables automatic login. Limited users would receive an explanation instead of an unusable sudo prompt when attempting updates or package changes.
After interruption and locking concerns, osbase77 reported changing the sequence so protection is applied before creating the second account. An interrupted operation should therefore leave the existing account more protected, with a later run completing the transition. The account-change lock is now described as root-owned and accessible only to root.
osbase77 reports checking both behaviors on an encrypted installation in omacom/omarchy#16100:issuecomment-6301761759; these remain author-reported results for an unmerged proposal.
Accessibility review improves field names and plugin control visibility
calebl's open shell accessibility proposal, omacom/omarchy#13212, exposes control roles, names, states and actions to assistive technology. As explicitly dated background,
monsieur-mouton wrote on October 13 that inaccessible shell controls blocked a move to Omarchy and offered to test with Orca. The proposal requires Quickshell 0.3.2 or later to export the accessibility tree.
On October 20, diogochaves reported testing two plugins and finding that example placeholders such as 90 and Work were being used as field names, while some rows named through Qt's Accessible.name remained absent from the tree.
calebl accepted the findings and said the patch would be incorporated after rerunning the fixture. The current proposal describes purpose-based field names and support for those plugin rows. The review is documented in omacom/omarchy#13212:issuecomment-6280602575 and omacom/omarchy#13212:issuecomment-6297729444.
calebl separately deferred a broader CursorSurface selection API change to a follow-up, while reporting that dialog actions no longer claim selection. The proposal remains open; the supplied review does not establish completed Orca testing.
Installer proposal carries language choice into the desktop
omarchybot opened omacom/omarchy-iso#297 to make language selection the installer's first screen. The open proposal translates the installer into 35 languages besides English that its console font can display. Languages requiring unsupported scripts remain selectable by English name: the installer stays English, but passes the chosen language to the installed desktop.
Supporting runtime work was committed to Omarchy's quattro branch in omacom/omarchy@3ac43659dcbf, attributed to Omarchybot. It consumes the install media's language marker and keyboard and timezone defaults, preserves an existing user's language choice, and keeps the system console locale English. The installer proposal and committed runtime support have different states; neither establishes that a stable ISO already offers the complete flow.
China region proposal adds install-time app choices and a CJK terminal font
xdanger's open region proposal, omacom/omarchy#13690, combines World and China package mirrors with developer tool registry settings. October 20 updates from
omarchybot extend it with regional preinstalls: China would omit selected service launchers and bindings and add applications including WeChat, QQ, WPS Office, DingTalk and Feishu. Changing region later would change download sources without adding or removing applications.
omarchybot also reported adding Maple Mono NF CN for the first user of a China install, so Han characters occupy two terminal cells. The reported worker checks left World users on JetBrains Mono and avoided shell restarts or terminal signals during installation. These proposal changes are documented in omacom/omarchy#13690:issuecomment-6294016253 and omacom/omarchy#13690:issuecomment-6294663326.
Feishu packaging separately reached the package repository's master branch in omacom/omarchy-pkgs@6573c44af9b3, attributed to Omarchybot. It covers x86_64 and aarch64 and uses native Wayland text input for fcitx5 composition. That committed package work does not mean the regional installation proposal has merged.
Clippy verification responds to a prompt-injection execution path
In the still-open verification request omacom/omarchy-plugin-marketplace#6429, HANCORE-linux reported that website-controlled window titles reached Crush with automatically approved shell and file tools. With that AI mode enabled, the reviewer said a visited page could inject instructions that execute commands as the desktop user, despite the plugin's promise that the agent only generates remarks.
CostaFot responded that version 1.55.0 removes agents that cannot run with every tool disabled, retaining only restricted Claude and pi configurations. The response also says screenshots no longer require enabling a file-reading tool.
CostaFot retargeted verification to the reported fix in omacom/omarchy-plugin-marketplace#6429:issuecomment-6301654018. The supplied record establishes a reported remediation and an updated target, not completed marketplace verification or an independent security audit.
